There is one feature common to all those who have been trained of God for His own service; they have had to do with Him in secret before they have become prominent in the eyes of men. The contrast to this is that restlessness of the flesh which seeks to attract attention before the soul has had this needed discipline. They run without being sent; and have to learn themselves by their own painful failures. If clouds have dimmed my sight,
When passed, Eternal Lover,
Towards me, as e'er, Thou 'rt bright.
