Forgiveness

Description

Once upon a time I dated a girl - and it ended in disaster. We just gave up on the whole thing in pain and disgust, and lost touch for several years. When we did meet again, I took the chance to draw her aside. I found that she was as anxious to obtain my forgiveness as I was to obtain hers. The relief was immense. And since each of us had long ago forgiven the other in our hearts, our sharing led us to laughter over the silly, immature things we had done. The facts of that disaster didn't have any power anymore. They didn't matter, because we stood as friends in a friendship healed by forgiveness.
