Parables in Matthew's Gospel

Description
The Lord adopted the parabolic method of teaching because of the unbelief of the hearers. They had refused His previous simple teaching in plain language and had hardened their hearts and closed their eyes. There unbelief had produced spiritual insensibility. But the disciples had exercised hearts and asked the Lord to explain the parables to them, which he readily did. Furthermore, the last three parables in Matthew thirteen were only spoken to the disciples in the house for their enlightenment.
We have sought to give first an exposition of the teaching of each parable, and then an outline of the lesson points
We have not aimed at any expanded commentary of these parables.
