First Thessalonians is possibly the first of the apostle Paul’s letters. It is worthy of our prayerful meditation as the return of our Lord Jesus is imminent.
His coming is mentioned in every chapter of this short book. Because of persecution, the brethren at Thessalonica sent Paul, and his companion Silas, away in haste. However, Paul never forgot them; they were always in his prayers. Wanting to know how they were doing, he sent Timothy to them who brought him good news concerning their faith and love. This prompted him to write this letter to encourage and exhort them. You too will be encouraged as you read and meditate on the contents of this letter.
