Lamentations of Jeremiah

Description

The five chapters of Jeremiah's Lamentations are five elegies, which breathe the distress of a pious and a broken heart. God intended that His people should share the depths of the prophet's lamentations. Throughout it is a true hearted expression of contrition and a confession of sins. " The crown is fallen from our head; woe unto us for we have sinned!" The modern reader will certainly benefit from the message of this Hebrew prophet.

William Kelly (1821 - 1906) was an able expositor in his day, issuing a copious volume of books, tracts, pamphlets and articles. He is perhaps unsurpassed even now for depth of insight and grasp of the sacred text. Here he brings fresh meaning to a rather neglected Bible book.
