It is no secret that marriage is under attack more than it has ever been before! This is evidenced by the increased number of sep- arations and divorces. The Song of Solomon is the greatest love song ever sung because it points to the greatest lover, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, wooing a bride unto Himself. His love never falters, never fades like a flower, and never fails. “Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it…“ 5:7. “…His name is as ointment poured forth” 1:3. Therefore, in a relationship, His ointment can heal our wounds and soothe our sorrow.

While this is a beautiful application, Song of Solomon is actually the interaction between husband and wife from courting to the wedding day! It also demonstrates to us how to handle conflict in the marriage and what happens when the marriage is mature and growing.
