The question asked by the disciples in the first verse of this chapter led the Lord to speak of the moral state that was suited to that kingdom. As a fitting model of the spirit which God looked for in those who belonged to it, He placed in their midst a little child, and, in reply to their question, said, "Whosoever shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
